How are you supposed to start a diary? I've never had one before. Mum and Dad gave me this for Christmas because

GRADE 5

c) I'm going into Grade 5 this year 

(starting tomorrow!) and Dad says Grade 5 was the best year of his life. He thinks I should write down all the things that happen each day so that when i'm an oldie like him i can look back and remember all the amazing and fun things I did over the year. Well, that's what they think, anyway. My best friend Zoe has a diary, and she says that you can tell it all your secrets and stuff about how you feel, like when something makes you sad or angry.

I'm going to tell you absolutely everything, Dearest Diary. But trust me-i'd never let anyone else get there hands on you ... EVER

So, here's my first secret, and only you will know. I'm um . . . a little bit nervous about going back to School tomorrow. Phew, I said it!

We've got a new teacher this year. What if we don't get on? Or she wants us to spend the whole year doing maths problems or boring stuff like the names of rivers and capital cities?

Mr Zugaro, my teacher last year, was amazing. We made up our own plays and acted them out and wrote all kinds of stories. He even showed us lots of different ways to write poems, which I love! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ 

And now I write them all the time. Here, in my room-not just for School. I guess you could call me a SECRET SCRIBBLER.

Oops! My little sister Olivia just came in but I managed to hide you under my pillow just in time. When it comes to people I don't want reading my, Olivia is at the top of list.

The Chocolate Factory,Descriptive Writing

IF I WAS IN A CHOCOLATE FACTORY FOR 24 HOURS WHAT WOULD I DO?
I would check out all the candy they have and also eat all the candy I can eat. The chocolatey chocolate waterfall will have lots of chocolate. If I ate that all I would get really sick. I think it would be just like the movie, Charlie and the chocolate factory. There will be chocolate, lollies, lollipops, bubblegum and much more candy. It will be the best day of my life if it actually happens. It would be so much fun, and I may be allowed to take my friends. We will be there all day eating all the candy we can eat for 24 hours. But if we ate a lot we would get a tummy ache. My favourite candy would probably be the chocolatey chocolate waterfall because there will be melted chocolate or it might be chocolate milk with extra chocolate.

But at the same time there lips were turning violet like  grapes.
It was raining and cold everyday. So people where getting really impaired

Tell sentence: I went to the beach.

Show sentence: It was really really sizzling  that people needed sun cream for their
body so they don’t get burnt like burnt toast.
So they had a swim.They were swimming all day that they got frosty  like they were
in winter.But then they got really hot again

Tell sentence: Carol bought new shoes because hers broke.

Show sentence: They were really really aged.So they broke and got really dusty and sloppy

like sticky pudding.So she brought new shoes.They were really really pure.So when she brought
them she wore them everyday.

David Attenborough Documentry Coastal Seas

Today we watched the Our Planet Documentary, narrated by David Attenborough, called Coastal Seas. Here are some interesting facts we learnt:

• 90 percent of marine creatures live coastal waters. This is because the sea floor is in reach of the sunlight.
• The documentary we watched was filmed in the Everglades National Park, in Florida USA.
• The lush meadows of the park support the marine life.
• The Giant Trevally and Sting Ray are extremely good hunters.
• Stingrays hunt for their prey that hide in the seagrass.
• There is a lot of food for the sea creatures, and for humans in the coastal waters.
• The bottlenose dolphin has a special way of hunting shoals of mullet. They create a circle around the fish and flick up the mud which makes the water murky - the mullet then get confused and jump up in the air, making it easy for the dolphins to catch the mullet.
• Coral reefs make up less than 1 % of all the marine species that live in the ocean.

• Coral reefs are missing an important member of the community-Sharks!
• Shark numbers have been dramatically reduced due to overfishing.
• Overfishing has reduced the shark population

Descriptive Language Writing. Dragon Story

Once Upon a time there were two girls named Phoenix and Julia. But
they were getting a bit bored. So they went on an adventure. They
went to a castle and when they got to the castle they saw a fierce
dragon with  long sharp nails. He had really sharp gooey teeth. But
then he trapped them in the castle and they couldn’t get out. A few
minutes later Phoenix found a note and the note said to look for a
lever. So they were looking for a lever. 1 minute later they found it. It
said to pull the lever. So Julia pulled it. When she pulled it another
note came out and it said. To find another lever. Because if you pull it
you will escape and get some weapons to defeat the dragon. You will
also get armour. So they pulled it and out came the weapons and

armour. So they put on some armour grabbed some weapons. But they
still had to find one more lever. So they were looking and looking for it.
But they couldn’t find it. It took them 6 hours to find it. It led them out
of the creepy dark castle. They were ready to fight the dragon. They
found some rope as well. But how were they supposed to fly? They
got there own dragon. So they got there dragon and flew up into the
air with their dragons big giant wings. They were gliding across the
sky following the fierce dragon. They couldn't catch up the fierce
dragon was too fast with his big wings. But they weren't giving up.
They were still trying to catch the dragon. So they grabbed the rope
and lasso it around the dragon. They were pulling it really hard that
the dragon couldn’t even breathe fire. Once they defeated him they
went back home and told there mum’s all about there adventure.

WHAT DO I LIKE MOST ABOUT NEW ZEALAND?

The thing that I like about New Zealand is the Schools because they don’t have that much schools in other countries and the schools in New Zealand is really fun. The other thing that I like about New Zealand is the fun places that they have like Rainbows End or the Zoo. The other things that I like about New Zealand is the stores that they have. Because with the stores that we have we can buy whatever we want. Also what I really like about New Zealand is the food. Because in other countries there food is really disgusting. I really like how we have lots of books and we also get them for free in schools. We also have lots of parks and lots of bikes and wheels. We also have lots of friends and family that lives in New Zealand. The other thing that I like about New Zealand is the devices because at my school we have Chromebooks. We also have really cool phones. Like iPhone and Samsung. We also have crayons and pencils and also rubbers. We also have really cool animals and sea animals. We have whales birds dogs cats lizards and much more. We also have really cool movies and really famous actors like Adam Sandler and Anna Kendrick. There really cool actors. We also have really cool boats. We also have kayaks.
